April 2013 Favorites

I know it's late to do this post, and I never do favorites posts...but still there's always a first time right?

Here are some products I was using quite often in April and most also before that, although I don't do makeup everyday.. It's just BB cream, compact, sometimes Blush, eye kohl, Mascara and lip balm.

So here we go...

Skincare favorites-

1. Nivea Soft Face Cream- I have been using this for almost a year I guess and I am happy and content with this. I have dry to normal skin so this one works just fine with me making my skin soft, being light and non-sticky on my face. I had reviewed this some years back, will review again since I think of differently now.

2. Parachute Advanced Soft Touch Body Lotion (Dry skin)-  I used this first when I had to go on a 5-day college trip and picked a bottle of this since it was the only one which was perfect size for travel (the one above is a big one) and love this then onwards. I like the other variant for Dry skin even more than this. It's just what my skin needs during the winters. So I guess this works rest of the time.

3, Garnier Light 3in1 Fairness Facial- I love this as a face mask, but for a quick glowy and clean face I sometimes use it as a face wash and scrub. Reviewed here.

4. Lotus Herbals Safe Sun 3in1 Matte Sunblock- I have been using this same tube for a long time so thought of adding this here. I seriously don't know if it has done anything or not..I get tanned anyway! I use it after Nivea soft and it doesn't make my face shiny or oily.

5. Garnier Light Fairness Face Wash- Okay, so I seriously don't believe in the 'fairness' crap in any of the products we get in India. I was bored with my Clean n Clear Face Wash and got this. Its an okay everyday face wash.

6. Kailash Jeevan Cream- I don't know if you guys are aware of this cream or not but I bet lots of Maharashtrian households use this, if not you maybe your grandparents might know this product. It's a great life-saver I tell you, it works for pimples, prickly heat, irritated skin, chapped lips, cracked heels, dry skin, and so on.
If I get a pimple, I slather this up on that spot after cleaning my face and it goes much faster, same with prickly heat. My forehead was bad with prickly heat, this cream healed it..and now my flat smooth and clear forehead is almost back.


Makeup Favorites-

I. Face Products:

1. Lakme Perfect Radiance Compact- Like this a lot, gives great coverage and affordable. Its packaging in changed now and since this was almost over I got the new packaging one.

2. Lakme Rose Powder- Have been using this everday ever since I got this. I need a new one now. Great everyday loose translucent powder. Reviewed here.

3. Maybelline Clear Glow BB Cream- Yep, I like it. Not sure whether I love it or just like but I was using this everyday to college. It gives a nice healthy glow and covers up light spots.

4. Just Candy Creamy Conceler- Got this a month or two back just to try, and even though I am skeptical about this brand the concealer is creamy, pigmented and matches my skintone and conceals well.

5. Colorbar Blush Peachy Rose- This is my favorite blush, and still haven't reviewed it crap! You know I am bad with posting reviews on time. But Peach Rose gives a warm and beautiful glow to my face.

6. The Balm's Hot Mama Blush-  Ha! I won this in a giveaway, first time.. And this one is gorgeous and shimmery. It looks great as an eyeshadow!

II. Eyes, Lips and Nails:

1, Maybelline Colossal Kajal- Got this the 3rd time, it's good, affordable and stays on well!

2.Maybelline Hyper Curl Mascara- This one is 3rd time too. I like that it is inexpensive and does its work well. Reviewed here.

3. Nivea Olive n Lemon Lip Balm- Use this at night and when I just need something soothing and light on my lips. Reviewed here.

4. Nivea Fruity Shine in Cherry- My cult favorite! I am ignoring other lip balms because of this. Love the deep pink-red tint it gives and of course it fruity scent.

5.  Nivea Fruity Shine in Pink Guava- Pink Guava was my 1st fruity shine and love it too although after I got Cherry I am using this less. But I use both a lot.

6. Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eye-liner- Aah..the gel liner! I have used this a lo if not everyday. I still need to improve my speed with gel liner. Stays whole day, comes with a nice brush.

7. Nail Paints- I was loving these nail paints past month, that dark Etude one I loved!

Clean and Clear Morning Energy Face Wash in Purifying Apple- Review!

Hello Everyone! :)

I hope you all are having a good time. And so sorry for being gone for SO long...

Today I am reviewing the Clean and Clear Morning Energy Face Wash in Purifying Apple. I have been using this face wash for around 10 months..used two of these green apple ones and one of the strawberry one.

Price: Rs.50/- for 50ML     

Packaging: 

Packaging is clear,simple and hassle-free. 

What I think about it:

Since I have used this for so long, I can say I really like it. It's a very good gentle everyday face wash. If you are like me with decent normal to dry skin, this might work for you too. I don't have a very extensive skincare routine, it's just basic and simple which works for me. 

I like this product and can go back to it without even looking at anything else. I feel really fresh and my skin feels clean and soft in the morning. 

Will I Re-purchase it?-

I have re-purchased it 2 times like I said. The Pink one (I think it's Berry one) is very good too, that smells heavenly! 

Garnier Light 3-in-1 Fairness Facial Review!!

Hey guys!! Hope you all are having a nice sunday!

Today I am going to review the Garnier Light 3-in-1 Fairness Facial. We all know Priyanka Chopra'a advertisement of this..and yeah I was eager to try this the first time I saw the commercial! ;)
Isn't it cool to be able to use one product as a face wash, face scrub and also a mask??!!

Price: Rs.99/- for 50gm


Packaging: It comes in a white squeez-tube packaging which I'd say is pretty good and not that boring..

What I think about it:
I am quite happy about it. I don't use it as a daily face wash because I don't think I want the product to get over (lol..) but I have used it as a face wash when I am having one of those busy and tiring days and need some fresh glow on my face but I am in no mood for a face mask! It does brings out a glow on my face, it's good as a scrub too. It has light blue particles which might seem a little plastic-y.. One doesn't need to apply too much force while scrubbing.
And now what I use it for- as a face mask (most of the time!). I LOVE it as a face mask!! I just do...


Pros:
1. quite true to its claims
2. freshens up and gives a nice glow to your face
3. good facial scrub to use once a week
4. Even better as a face mask! <3
5. Inexpensive
6. Pretty good packaging
7. Has a nice minty fresh fragrance

Cons
1. the particles may seem a little rough to some people, need to be careful about not over-scrubbing

I don't find any other con with it! <3

Will I repurchase it?: YES!! I will definitely get this again! If you haven't tried this yet, I highly recommend this! :D

Anherb Natural Milk and Honey Nourishing (Night) Cream Review!

Hey guys!

So today I am reviewing another product that I own from the brand Anherb Naturals. And if you read my blog, you’ll know I have already reviewed two other products from this brand and have explained about how I got it and where it is available and all that. I have their links in the end of this post. Definitely check that out too!

And I threw the packaging/box in which this thing came so I don’t have all those details about this. It comes in a tub form which might be a problem for some. But Anherb Natural Milk and Honey Nourishing Cream is a great night cream, it can be used otherwise but the SA at the counter showed it to us(me and my mom) and started convincing us to buy this and voila we were! That’s nothing new for us right?! She told it’s a perfect night cream. Read on to find how this one flared.

Price: It was something around 200INR or less..

What are my thoughts about this?

Okay..I am getting straight into this and telling you I LOVE this cream! It was initially for my mom, who doesn’t take care of herself when it comes to skincare..and then every night or morning I keep asking her whether she’d applied a moisturizer, blah..blah..blah.. And I didn’t start using this the time we got this, but I whenever I’d apply any face mask I’ll use this on my face after removing the mask. And I usually apply face masks at night after dinner, don’t know why but I guess I like to see the glow on my face the other morning. So while using this cream I realized it can be used as a great massage cream since it has very good consistency. It is really soft and spreads on skin like a dream. I started using this during the winters after washing my face every night.

And I have dry to normal skin, goes on the dry side during winters. And I am also using this during summer but use very tiny amount since I tend to sweat a lot and my face get shiny pretty fast although not oily. And I have never tried it in the morning as I know it’ll make my face shiny. :P

So even if you have oily skin you can use this during night. Even a very little amount works well and it soothes my skin.

Will I buy this again?: Yes for sure! It lasts a long way too!!! Available at the Beauty Center, Crawford Market.

Anherb Natural Body Lotion Review!

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a nice weekend.

Today I am reviewing another product from the brand Anherb Natural and it’s a Body Lotion. This thing I absolutely love and first got it when I was in the Beauty Centre with my mom and we were hunting for a good body lotion for the winter time. The lady at this counter started showing us products from this brand and we decided to give it a try. And I must tell you I got this same thing again the next time! So I have used two tubes of this body lotion and I feel it deserves a review! So here we go:-

What it claims to do:

This light weight, quick absorbing & non-greasy formula provides long lasting moisturisation, conditioning and softness to all skin types including sensitive skin.

M.R.P.: 159INR/- for 150ml (which is less than the face cream which was for 165INR)

Packaging: Comes in a similar packaging as the face cream and in same size in a white and green squeezy tube with green cap. Again everything’s mentioned and it is handy to travel with.

Ingredients: Have attached a picture showing the list of ingredients below.

What I think about it:

I have all good things to say about this lotion! I have used this during the winters when my skin on my body goes super dry and I have a history of skin problems so my skin gets sensitive during the  winters( not the skin on my face thank god!). This body lotion does all what it claims, it moisturizes really well and is not heavy or greasy and soothes my skin. It has a good consistency i.e. it’s neither too thick nor too runny and it is super smooth(you'll see that in the swatch below). It‘s like how a body lotion should be.

And I don’t know what else to say, I already love this and I know I am going back to this product for the winter time. But the smell of it may be a problem for some since its little weird smelling. The 2^nd tube I got had smell like that of Veet!! :O :/

Other than that I don’t think there’s anything which anyone will have a problem with. I and my mom love this lotion and I highly recommend this one if you haven’t found the body lotion which works for you!

Will I buy this again?: YES!!! Definitely! This one is much better than all those Pond’s and Vaseline Lotions out there! :P

Anherb Naturals Fairness Face Cream Review!

Hey guys! So how is your weekend going on? Mine is going good, just ate some yummy pizza my mom made! ^_^

So now I am reviewing a product from a brand which is not that famous and I’ve hardly seen any reviews of anything from this brand on any blogs. It’s a Face Cream from a brand called Anherb Naturals and I got this from the Beauty Centre at Crawford Market, so may be it’ll be available at other Beauty Centre’s too. I don’t know exactly since I go only to the one in Crawford Market. They have a wide range of products from face creams to body lotions, night cream or nourishing cream, etc. and I have tried some of their other products too and you’ll see that in the upcoming posts.

What it claims to do:

New Anherb fairness cream is a unique active-fairness treatment that imparts instant fairness. Along with vita-oliv complex it works throughout the day, clears blemishes & reveal visibly fairer- even complexion with matte effect. Triple action sunscreen helps protect skin from UV rays, tanning and dark spots. Finally imparts natural glow to skin. Regular use, prepares you to face the world with confidence.

M.R.P. – 165INR/- for 150gm

Packaging: It comes in a big white and pink squeezy tube with pink cap. All the ingredients and everything is mentioned. Over all it’s a decent packaging and is handy for travelling too.

Ingredients: Here’s a picture of the ingredient list and it doesn’t contain any Parabens and they don’t do animal testing (its mentioned on the tube).

What I think about it:

I have used this for a long time now and I have mixed feelings about it. It does pretty much all the things it claims i.e. instant fairness- yes, you get a little ‘instant’ glow on your face but its not like it makes you fair. I think it’s just the glow. It is actually matte, the moment you apply it you get the matte effect on your face. The cream looks like those Fair and Lovely creams and has a feel of it too since it has little shimmer in it. But it spreads nicely on your face and then gives the matte look but I think if I use a little more quantity than usual, it makes me sweat on the face which is something we don’t want right!

But this has never given me any break-out or blemishes or anything like that. Incase you are wondering I have normal to dry skin. And it makes me sweat sometimes so I am not sure how well it’ll fare with oily skinned girls.

Other than that I don’t think there’s anything I don’t like about this cream. But I wasn’t using this during the winter and have resumed its use now. Even my mom uses this every single day.

So I am pretty happy with this cream and I have also used two more products from this brand and will be reviewing them next!

And if you see this brand and are confused whether to get anything or not, I suggest you definitely give it a try! It’s a really nice brand and hasn’t disappointed me and my mom. I’ve also tried their Body Lotion(2 tubes down!) and Milk and Honey Nourishing Cream which is like a night cream and really good for massaging your skin after scrubbing and cleansing. J

Will I buy this again?: YES for the brand, maybe no for the face cream. They also have face packs and soaps and many more and I want to try some of those. Waiting for my next trip to Beauty Center. :D

Skincare products Haul!!!!

Yup..its an haul post..but not of makeup..(sad)..

Two weeks before me and my mom had gone to the Beauty Centre at Crawford Market!! I went there for the FIRST time!!! I was drooling over the stuff there!! So many makeup brands!!!!!!!!!

There was everything from Neutrogena's skincare range, The Body Shop(as well), Pond's range, and various other skincare brands..
Now makeup..there was..Lakme, Colorbar, Faces, Gala of London, Revlon, MAC (for sure!!) You know what..I saw MAC for the first time..(you know what I mean when I say first time right)..the blushes, lipglosses...the cute eye shadows..drool...
Then there were brands like Eyetex Dazzler, Diana of London, V.O.V..and some whose names I saw for the first time..But there was no Miss Claire.. :( Or maybe I missed it..hope it is there..

AND......there were MANY MANY nail polishes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am never buying polishes from any other place now!! :-D

Ever Yuth Naturals Golden Glow Peel-Off Review!

Who doesn't like to go that extra mile for their lovely face...every one of us tries lots and lots of products to keep our skin and face beautiful.. Today I am reviewing another such product which is very much tested and tried by almost all of our Indian beauties..and I am sure they have loved it too!! And who doesn't like a scrub or face pack which is easy to apply!! And when it comes in the form of a peel-off..even more interesting!!! :D


So today I am reviewing the Ever Yuth Naturals Golden Glow Peel-Off! 

WHAT DOES EVERYUTH NATURALS GOLDEN GLOW PEEL OFF CLAIM:

Dust, pollution, and the environment cause impurities to clog skin pores and make the skin dull. Ever Yuth Naturals Golden Glow Peel-Off is a home facial with orange peel extracts and glitter particles, which gives you an instant glow and fairness when there is no time for a parlour facial. Its 3-way action works wonders on your skin by peeling away dirt and bacteria from within the skin pores. It stimulates blood circulation and oxygen supply to the skin, and gives an instant fairness with a golden glow.

KEY INGREDIENTS:

Water, alcohol, Polyvinyl alcohol, PEG 1500, propylene glycol, orange peel extract, vitamin A, C, E, and F, Methyl Paraben, Fragrance, Mica and Titanium and Calcium Aluminium Borosilicate, Gellan Gum, Color Sunset, Yellow C.I. No. – 15985, Lactic Acid.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

Wash face, pat skin dry. Apply evenly over your face avoiding eyes and mouth (do not apply a very thin layer). Let it dry for 15 to 20 minutes. Peel off from forehead in a downward direction towards chin and wash off. For best results, use at least once a week.

My Experience:

The peel-off is quite too sticky and gluey but yummy and bright looking thing which has bright golden particles in it! Some might not like the brightness but I love it!! We should apply it thick so it can be peeled-off easily. I find this peeling procedure total fun!! I don't know about the bacteria, blood circulation and oxygen supply (as it claims)..but it does gives a pretty glow to my face!! And that's why I like it!

Would I buy it again? : Yes!! I surely will!! Let me finish this one first!! I don't go on applying it every week..I use it once in two weeks or so..(p.s. My skin is in very good health nowadays!)

Olay Natural White Daily Healthy Fairness Cream Review!

So after so many days I am doing a review of a skincare product...right!!
I started using Olay Natural White just because I wanted to try it..I got a small tube of 20gm for Rs.99/-.

Here is what it claims:

-Its formula with triple nutrient system- vitamin B3, pro-B5 & E nourishes your skin to reduce the appearance of dark spots and dullness for a healthy-looking natural fairness that glows.

- It has light & non-greasy texture that absorbs easily to help nourish your skin with nutrients.

- It also contains sunscreen ingredients that helps protect skin from harmful UV rays.

DIRECTIONS TO USE: Use twice a day on a clean face and neck

My verdict:

I have been using this for the past two months or so..and have got no bad effects.. although I didn't see a phenomenal change..(i.e. fairness)but my mom says that my complextion has lightened!!! Spreads evenly too..so we require only little amount!  And it actually does what it claims...:)

Neutrogena Deep Clean facial cleanser

So..I am gonna keep this a 'pending' review..coz I got this product during winters and my skin becomes sort of dry.. but the cleanser's for oily skin mostly.. I mean its written its fo oily to normal skin types.. so i'll be eviewing it in detail after some days..when my skin starts going oily again..(hopefully that shouldn't happen).. but for now there are only photos of this cutee bottle I got for 85INR.

Lakme Fruit Moisture Peach n Plum Review!

So heres the review on Lakme Fruit Moisture Peach n Plum moisteriser. I had shown this in my haul many days before...The bottle is almost finished..

Here's the photo of ingredients.

Its easy to use and not that messy..u'll think that lookin at the lid.. but believe me it becomes a bit messy..
I liked the smell of peaces and plums..heavenly!!! :) but its not that moisterising as it claims..12 hours moisture n all.. atleast not for me...and I had to squeez and shake it 100 times to make it come out..I felt the quantity was very less...
Would I buy this again? NO WAY!!! 

Rogan Badam Shirin Sweet Almond Oil review!!

Hey ladies..I am sorry for not doing a post for such along time... Here I am reviewing Rogan Badam Shirin Sweet Almond Oil which I have been using for more than a year now..its almost empty...n I want a new one!!! Its sweet almond oil(not that I have tasted it ) and we can consume it too.. but I use it instead of night cream... its the BEST!!! I recommend it to all...
